DAY ONE
PORTO CERVO
Porto Cervo is the FAMOUS millionaire’s playground of the COSTA SMERALDA that was created by a syndicate headed by the Agha Khan.
It is a popular tourist attraction and the destination of the international jet set. One can choose among the many beautiful beaches and small islands with their crystal-clear water. It is highly fashionable, beautifully planned and full of top class shopping. Some of Italy’s most expensive hotels are here, and magnificent yachts anchor in the waters of Porto Cervo. Golf courses, yacht clubs, and numerous alfresco restaurants and bars cater to those who want to see and be seen.
SIGHTSEEING TOURS / EXCURSIONS
Stella Maris
The church of Stella Maris, is a masterpiece of modern sacred architecture. All the sacred space is surrounded by the roundness of the walls, a roundness that with its irregularity not only recalls the traditional constructions of the territory, the sea waves moved by strong winds, but also the sacred symbolism, common to all religious expressions, that is, to the divinity itself, in fact the circular image is the symbol of God. Visiting the church in its interior one can notice a particularity, the complete absence of everything that makes a corner!
RESTAURANTS
Gianni Pedrinelli
VIPs’ favourite restaurant. Elegant atmosphere, exquisite Italian and international cuisine. A popular destination for those who want to enjoy exquisite food in an exclusive environment.
Il Pescatore
The only pieds dans l’eau restaurant in Porto Cervo that offers superb seafood, stunning views of the port and a timeless charm. Il Pescatore proposes Mediterranean cuisine, focusing on local specialties that combine flavors, creativity and lightness.
DAY TWO
BONIFACIO
Going ashore in Bonifacio will be a DELIGHTFUL experience. Wake up the next morning so you can take in the AMAZING scenery.
Not to be missed, the spectacular journey through the Straights of Bonifacio. A narrow entrance hidden at the foot of cliffs opens into the harbour of the ancient fortress town. Its superb location on a narrow peninsula of dazzling white limestone at Corsica’s southernmost point creates a town site unlike any other on the island.
SIGHTSEEING TOURS / EXCURSIONS
Bonifacio’s Upper Town
Perched on the rock overlooking the sea, upper Bonifacio is made up of the medieval old town and the citadel. Created in the 19th C, the access road splits at the Roman column. The left incline leads to the old town via a tunnel. The old, narrow streets around the church of Sainte-Marie-Majeure are lined with tall houses linked by strange flying buttresses that are gutters taking rainwater into the water tanks.
Lavezzi Islands
The island of Lavezzi and a hundred or so islets and reefs form an archipelago around 4km/2.5mi from the Pointe de Sperone, southeast of Bonifacio. Part of the archipelago is now a nature reserve with restricted access to protect flora and fauna. This miniature paradise of sandy creeks and crystal-clear water has an almost lunar appearance and some of its giant granite boulders are reminiscent of an imaginary bestiary.
Eglise St. Dominique
This chuch should was supposedly completed in 1343 by the Dominicans on the site of a former Templar church, and is one of the rare examples of Gothic architecture in Corsica. The campanile with its octagonal upper levels and crenelles is strikingly original. The wonderful acoustics inside make it a regular venue for polyphonic groups.
RESTAURANTS, BARS & NIGHTCLUBS
Le Voilier

DAY THREE
ST. FLORENT
St Florent, founded by the Romans, is a CHARMING medieval port town located on a sparkling BAY between the wild MOUNTAINS of Cap Corse and the magnificent Désert des Agriates.
Despite its varied past, the town remains relatively unspoilt and is easily walkable in 10 minutes. The town center is filled with a maze of narrow streets and passages between the harbor and Citadel, while the town squares, encircled by cafes, look out towards the lively waterfront with its row of restaurants. St Florent offers a friendly and intimate atmosphere, similar in style to St Tropez but less pretentious. It’s an ideal base for beach holidays and exploring Corsica’s northwest coast or mountain villages inland.
SIGHTSEEING TOURS / EXCURSIONS
Santa Maria Assunta
Visit the cathedral of the Nebbio region in St Florent, Santa Maria Assunta. It was built by the Pisans in the 12th Century, on the site of the ancient Roman city that existed before St Florent (some 800m from the new town centre). The building is highly ornate and a fine example of Pisan architecture and probably one of the island’s most beautiful cathedrals.
Nonza
Worth visiting is Nonza, a flowergarnished slate roofed village, standing 150m above a blackened shingled beach offering a dramatic viewpoint across the sea. A great spot for those wishing to drive around Cap Corse.
RESTAURANTS, BARS & NIGHTCLUBS
Auberge Du Pêcheur
The choice of species proposed varies according to the catches of the day: lobsters, lobsters, swordfish, dentex, capers … and bluefin tuna fished in a traditional and selective way with the hook, while observing the method IKEJIME-a method that it preserves the fish’s flavour and texture.
La Gaffe
All that is proposed to you at La Gaffe is homemade: the funds of sauces, pastries, soups … All the products are selected with the greatest attention among the island’s craftsmen and caught daily.
DAY FOUR
CANNES
This morning we suggest anchoring in the bay of CANNES for those who wish to enjoy SWIMMING and water sports. During lunch we can berth in the Port of Cannes.
Whichever way you must take advantage of this wonderful city. Enjoy the fantastic designer boutiques, Swarowski embellished T-shirts, silver jeans, glittery bikinis and watches – you will find these and much, much more as you stroll along the Croisette and into the alleyways of Cannes. Why not also take the small train tour around Cannes and take in all that this city has to offer. If the younger members of the group have had enough water sports for the day, why not try Laser Quest at La Bocca.
SIGHTSEEING TOURS / EXCURSIONS
La Croisette
The promenade of La Croisette is one of the most appreciated jewels of the city of Cannes. Linking the beach and the city, the Croisette is considered an attractive promenade par excellence. La Croisette is a piece of land that has taken on the sea. Today, at more than 3km long, the Croisette presents a diversified sidewalk where mythic hotels meet Casinos, stores of wellknown brands, sandy beaches, a rose garden, the new harbour, Pierre Canto and tree-shaded gardens.
The Lérins Islands
More than the seaside, the Lérins Islands attracts the covetousness of this maritime colony. Natural harbours for the sailors from the west they were originally called Léro and Lérina. Today the current names Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat constitute the last safe anchorage before Antipolis, the future Antibes. A campaign of excavations in the years 1970 and 1980 updated the richest archaeological deposit of the archipelago, exhuming the remains of the oppidum Vergoanum under the terrace of the Royal Fort in Sainte-Marguerite. Lérins, Léro, Lérina, are names which take root with Lêron and Lérine, two local entities venerated by the sailors of passage.
The Cinema Scene,
Despite its red-carpet fame, the Palais des Festivals used to have the architectural eloquence of a nuclear power station. Now bright white, it is a far better backdrop for photos of chaps in tuxedos and ladies in shiny frocks. Talking of whom, down the side of the building, very many of the most prominent movie figures have left their hand-prints set in the pavement. Once neglected, they have now renamed this stretch ‘Chemin des Etoiles’ and set the prints in stainless steel, giving the actors and actresses the dignity their hand-prints deserve.

SIGHTSEEING TOURS / EXCURSIONS
La Chapelle Sainte Anne
La Chapelle Sainte Anne was built in 1618 to thank god for sparing Saint Tropez from the plague. Located on the hill of Mont Pécoulet, this simple building boasts a traditional Provençal style and is surrounded by cypress and pine trees. Its walls are decorated with many ex-votos, thanking Saint Anne, patron of seamen, for her help. The chapel sits on the highest point of a hill overlooking the village of Saint Tropez, therefore offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
Cap Camarat
Cap Camarat is the name of one of three headlands jutting out into the sea around St Tropez. It’s undoubtedly the most wild of all three capes; its nature and vegetation is heavily protected by conservation societies. It has just one accessible beach which is an amazing place to swim after a little hike downhill, although it is more easily reached by boat.
The Citadel
At the top of the village, climb the green and wooded hill to the 16th-century Citadel. It’s impressively fortified, built both to defend the coast and survey the Tropeziens who, in the view of the French authorities, were a truculent and seditious lot. From outside, the views across the village and out to sea are sumptuous. The interior has been transformed into a museum of St Tropez’s (surprisingly gallant) maritime history.
Musée de L’annonciade
One of the longest-established modern art galleries in France, this 16th-century former chapel in Place Grammont contains arts from artists connected with Provence in general and St Tropez in particular. The collections presented, ranging between 1890 and 1950 are surprising, as much by their quality as by their homogeneity. All the artists on display based their work on a reflection on color while remaining faithful to figuration.
