HVAR


Visit the ISLAND of Hvar. The longest Adriatic island, holds the
record for the number of SUNNY DAYS per year. A lot could be said
about the cultural traditions on Hvar.The OLDEST RELIEF of a ship in Europe was found here.

The oldest community theatre in Europe was founded here in 1612, on one of the largest Renaissance squares. There is also the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower, rich treasury and many paintings by old masters.
Several late Gothic buildings have been preserved on one of the largest squares, the most prominent among them being the unfinished palace of the Renaissance poet Petar Hektorovic. The island of Hvar is also famous for its St. Klement’s islands (PAKLENI OTOCI) small, partially wooded islands with gravel and sandy beaches. In the pine forest beyond, there is a fortress, overlooking an exquisite botanical garden. Although the name means ‘Hell Islands’, they are not menacing at all.

DUGI OTOKO


DUGI OTOK is an island located close to Zadar on the mainland and is the largest among the islands located in this part of Dalmatia.
Its name literally means “long island” – for it is indeed of this description – and is known for its vineyards and orchards, Saharun beach in the north, and Telascica Nature Park that covers the southern part of the island. With a population of just 1,500 people on Dugi Otok, the main villages are Bozava and Sali.

KORNATI


Composed of 140 uninhabited islands, islets and reefs covering 300 sq km, the Kornatis are the LARGEST and densest archipelago in the Adriatic.
Due to the typically karstic terrain, the islands are riddled with cracks, caves, grottoes and rugged cliffs. The Kornati Islands form four groups running northwest to southeast. The first two groups of islands lie closer to the mainland and are known locally as Gornji Kornat. The largest of these islands is Žut. There are about 300 buildings on the Kornati Islands, mostly clustered on the southwestern coast of Kornat

Corfu to Montenegro One of the most POPULAR of the Croatian islands, Lošinj is famous for its lush green vegetation.

The island was a wealthy enclave beginning in the early 19th century when shipbuilding was in its prime, a period that left its mark in the form of stunning villas that were once the summer homes of royals and European elite. Lošinj offers the classic Adriatic idyll in near-pristine form: limpid turquoise seas, fine weather, rugged sloping scenery and a friendly welcome not least from loggerhead turtles and bottlenose dolphins.

The largest town on Lošinj Island, is a stunner. The oldest AUTOCHTHONOUS Croatian town on the Adriatic is situated in the best protected natural port in the center of the eastern coast of the Adriatic, on the mouth of the beautiful river Krka.
It was first mentioned in 1066, when the town began to spread like an Amphitheatre below the cliff. The most famous is the Cathedral of St. Jacob, protected by UNESCO. The cathedral and the nearby renaissance town hall, other churches, palaces, and the Prince’s Palace presently housing the County Museum, probably make the most beautiful town square of the Croatian urban heritage.

VIS & BISEVO


The island of Bisevo is south-west of the ISLAND of VIS. Many CAVES have been carved into its steep coast. Among these, the BLUE CAVE (Modra spilja) with entrances both above and BELOW SEA LEVEL, should be singled out.
When the sea is calm the light diffracts and paints the interior of the cave blue, and anything below the water line, silver. The effect rivals that of the well-known cave on Capri. If you are lucky, you will come across the protected species of Mediterranean monk bear, although it has not been seen in these waters for a long time. We strongly suggest you visit the island of VIS, known for its fishermen, seafarers and beautiful nature. The Greeks founded their first colony on Vis (named Issa) and planted the first grapevine there as early as the 4th century. Two churches from the 16th and the 17th centuries have been preserved, as well as a number of Renaissance houses.

Lastovo also known as ‘TINY PARADISE’ is Croatia’s most remote inhabited island with just a population of a thousand. One can enjoy beautiful LUSH FORESTS, a ragged coastline and beautiful walks around the island.
Lastovo’s only activity is viniculture, they produce the Lastovo Marastina a full- flav oured dry white wine that is famous throughout the whole of Croatia. The sea is as clean, clear and sparkling as you can ever find. The remoteness of Lastovo has left the waters teeming with fish and make it ideal for snorkelling and scubadiving

KORCULA


Visit the WOODED ISLAND of Korcula, as it was named by the ANCIENT GREEKS. It is known for the beauty of its nature and for the richness of its HISTORICAL, cultural and traditional heritage.
The Gothic and Renaissance buildings, palaces, churches, streets and squares emphasise the harmonious ground plan inside the old town walls of the city of Korcula. For centuries, stone cutting and shipbuilding have been the most important professions in this town. It took local builders 150 years to erect the cathedral of St.Marcus, the most notable building in Korcula. The old knight’s dance Moreska, dating from the 15th century, evokes the battles with the Moors and was popular all over the Mediterranean.But today it has only been preserved on the island Korcula. The greatest world traveller, Marco Polo, also began his great journey in this town.
